Call for Film Composers: Spot the Composer
The Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes is inviting submissions for its 2024 Spot the Composer programme.
This initiative seeks to connect talented film music composers from across the globe with film industry professionals in Cannes. Ten composers will be selected to attend one-to-one meetings, a case study on film promotion and marketing through music, a masterclass on film music, and networking events.
Eligible applicants should have at least ten IMDb credits as the main composer, including credits for at least two feature-length films, and may only participate twice with a three-year gap between attendances. The programme focuses on participants from Europe and North America, but others may apply if they can secure a visa.
Selected composers receive free accreditation to the Marché du Film, a 3-night stay in Cannes, and a one-year subscription to DISCO. Applicants must cover their travel costs. Submissions must include a DISCO playlist showcasing their work.
The deadline for submissions is 31 March, with selected composers notified by 15 April.
